Our Mission

Pet sitting is an unregulated industry that attracts many well-intentioned but untrained animal lovers. Unfortunately, this leads to unsafe and sub-standard pet care, injured and lost animals, injured pet sitters, property damage, and even law suits.

We created the Northern California Pet Sitters Collaborative for two purposes:

  1. Provide a searchable directory of professional pet sitters for pet parents in Northern California

  2. Recognize professional pet sitters who treat pet sitting as a professional business, adhere to ethical and business standards, and are committed to force-free care

The last thing you should worry about when you go on vacation is your pet sitter. Our mission is to elevate the pet sitting industry by promoting reputable, force-free pet sitting businesses, while making it easy for pet parents to find trusted and legitimate pet care.
