Interested in joining the Northern California Pet Sitters Collaborative?
We encourage you to apply!

There are 4 steps to join:

  1. Check to make sure you meet ALL membership requirements (see below)

  2. Submit your complete membership application

  3. Interview with the collaborative over Zoom

  4. Pay the $50 annual membership fee

Our goal is inclusivity and to increase the number of professional force-free pet sitters in Northern California. If you do not yet meet all the requirements to join, please contact us and we would be happy to help you get there!

Additionally, some of our members have virtual and/or in-person mentorship programs for new pet sitting professionals and we would love to connect you with the right support for growing your business.

We cannot elevate the pet sitting industry without also elevating each other.

Membership Requirements

Applicants must provide proof of:

  • Commitment to force-free pet sitting

  • Commercial liability insurance coverage

  • Clear criminal background screening

  • Agree to abide by the NCPSC membership agreement

  • Active membership in a professional pet sitter organization (e.g., Pet Sitters International, National Association of Professional Pet Sitters, Pet Professional Guild, etc.)

  • Annual continuing education (attest to complete a minimum of 10 CEUs within the first year of membership)

  • Current CPR and first aid certification

  • Valid, current business license and/or permit for their city/county

  • Link to an up-to-date website with transparent pricing and rates

  • Copy of service contracts and policies for pet parents

To maintain good standing, members will be asked to submit continuing proof of the above documents/requirements each year.
